What is the PCV licence?


PCV stand for Passenger Carrying Vehicle. Apart from these names, there is no difference between PSV and PCV licences.  PCV licence is divided into the following categories such as - D, D+E, D1, and  Cat D1+E. If you obtain your car licence after 1st January 1997. You can also drive a minibus on a car licence.  But meeting the conditions that are listed below - 

  • Not towing a trailer. 
  • Driver age should be 21 years old.
  • This means that the minibuses are being used in the UK, not overseas.
  • Two years of driving experience is required of the driver. 

Once you get your licence. After every 5 years, you go for a medical examination and undertake 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training.
